1995 Gibson J-250 Presentation Prototype!

ON-HOLD...An absolutely beautiful example of what early Gibson Montana could do. This is the Prototype (1 of 1) of this Maple J-250 Presentation model. It’s close to the class of the Monarch models but a bit more streamlined. The guitar features a beautiful figured Spruce top, highly figured Maple 3-piece back, sides. The neck is also highly figured maple. The fingerboard is made of ebony with beautiful cloud inlays. The headstock features an ebony overlay with the early fancy Gibson logo with abalone fleur-de-lis ornamentation. The back of the headstock also features an ebony backplate with fleur-de-lis inlay and multiple bindings. The tuners were upgraded to German Schallers (same footprint with no mods). The originals are included with one tuner not functional.

The guitar is in near mint condition and was clearly well-cared for its entire life. It really appears to be almost unplayed. It’s a shame that it wasn’t played much because it sounds amazing. It’s a very light and resonant guitar and sounds better than most J-200’s you’ll have played. The top is signed but much of the early Gibson Montana crew on the underside of the top including Val Bolitho and Kevin Kopp. It comes with the original brown hardshell case with purple interior. For the most discerning collectors, this is the one!
