c. 1975 Gibson MK-72 Mark Series Guitar!

Rare color for this unique model. Almost all of these were natural so the Sunburst is unusual. Very unique model that was possibly a bit ahead of it's time. This could be a guitar to hold onto for the future. This one plays and sounds great and is a great playing example. The guitar is all original except for a small repair around the side binding where it looks like it had a small hit at one time. Very nice repair and hard to see.

The guitar has no structural issues. The guitar has been played over the years so it does show some finish checking and light dings and scratches but is fairly nice overall. Comes with the original hardshell case that had stickers on it and has general wear but is very usable.

Between 1975 and 1978, Gibson produced the Mark series of flattop acoustics which were designed by Michael Kasha and Ricahrd Schneider. These steel-strings had a 16 3/16-inch wide body and were narrower at the waist than a normal dreadnought. Some innovative features offered with the Mark series were a modified fan-pattern bracing style, an asymmetrical bridge, a removable pickguard, and interchangeable saddles.
