Here's a very unique Martin D-45. It's a 14-Fretter with a slotted headstock. You almost never see this variation much less on a D45 and it was a Custom back in 1983. This is #31 of 150 ever made from this official Limited Edition series. They didn't make 150 like this with the 14-fret and slot headstock though! It could be unique or very low numbers. The guitar is signed on the label by CF Martin III and CF Martin IV. Also note the fancy extra abalone inlays around the headstock, torch headstock inlay, and snowflake fingerboard inlays, which were also custom options. - Exceptionally clean Martin from its original owner. The guitar is all original and complete including the original hardshell case and case key. The guitar is near mint with only one light pickguard shrinkage spot on the top that doesn't go through the wood. NO WOOD CRACKS. Only the slightest finish checking. The guitar has excellent action at 6/64" at the 12th on the low E and 4/64" at the 12th on the high E. Not much saddle but it plays very well. - The sound is really incredible and strong. The sound radiates from this guitar. It's also very lightweight for a dreadnought and is just a good guitar in every way. This combination really works well. Get yourself a slot headstock 14-fret D-45!
