  • One of Gibson's only fully hollow thinlines
  • VOS per Okuda's instructions
  • P-90 pickups designed by Gibson Memphis

One of Gibson's only fully hollow thinlines

The ES-330 has been around since its release in 1959. The guitar shares the same fully hollow construction and dual P-90 pickups as the popular Epiphone Casino (whom Gibson owns), but the ES-330 was actually first to the table. The guitar's resonant sound adds warmth and an extremely lively timbre to the tone of this Tamio Okuda signature. And the two single-coil pickups give you more cut than a standard humbucker, but also allow for more low-mid warmth than may be expected. It's easy to see why players such as the Beatles and Gary Clark Jr. have favored this design for decades.

VOS per Okuda's instructions

Tamio Okuda knows a lot about great vintage Gibsons. And he knew exactly what he wanted out of this ES-330 signature model. One of the most important aspects was for the guitar to feel, sound, and play like a top-quality vintage guitar. On this model you'll find old-school appointments like a nylon string nut, Kluson white oval button tuners, and even vintage-correct fretwire. The neck is kept stable with Gibson's Historic truss rod system. And the Bigsby vibrato, the favorite appointment around Sweetwater, adds even more classic character to the guitar.

P-90 pickups designed by Gibson Memphis

Tamio Okuda was specific about the vintage character he wanted with is signature ES-330. So Gibson Memphis designed their MHS P-90 pickups to deliver the same mix of chime and bark that the older models are well known for. You can expect the full-sounding bite that works equally well with clear clean tones and raw and aggressive overdrive. And the whole thing runs through controls outfitted with the legendary bumblebee capacitors, which ensures you hear the clarity and have the tonal control of the great vintage Gibson electric guitars.

Gibson Memphis ES-330 Tamio Okuda Hollowbody Electric Guitar Features:

  • 2 MHS P-90 single-coil pickups add clarity and bite to the guitar's voice
