Made in that magical year for Gibson, 1959, this is a \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003enice, honest, and largely original example\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e with less wear than you normally see on one of these nearly 70-year-old Gibson acoustics.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"isSelectedEnd\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWe'd call this one \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003eVery Good\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e overall. There is some fairly heavy finish checking across the top, but it presents really well and has that honest vintage appearance that we love to see. There has been \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003eabsolutely no refinishing\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, and aside from an added jack in the usual location, there are no modifications to speak of. It was clearly electrified at some point in its life, but otherwise remains exceptionally original.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"isSelectedEnd\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eStructurally, there is only \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003eone crack on the entire guitar\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, and it is the familiar \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003epickguard crack along the treble side of the fingerboard extension\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. Other than that, this is a very clean and honest guitar with no other cracks to report.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"isSelectedEnd\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe original \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003esingle-line Kluson tuners\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e are all present and working great, complete with their original buttons. The original big Gibson frets show some wear and light divoting but still have plenty of life and the guitar plays very well overall.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"isSelectedEnd\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe neck has a really nice \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003erounded C shape with a definite 1950s Gibson feel\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, measuring \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e0.90\" at the first fret and 1.01\" at the 10th fret\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. The nut width is \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e1.69\"\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, making this a very comfortable-feeling neck without being overly narrow.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"isSelectedEnd\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003ePlayability is quite good, with action measuring \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e6\/64\" at the 12th fret on the low E and 4\/64\" on the high E\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e.
