2015 Gibson Custom Shop Featherweight R8 with HM Deluxe Package!
ON-HOLD... KILLER Lightweight (7.65 lbs) Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Reissue. This started out as an early 2015 (2014 Serial) Gibson Wildwood Featherweight 1958 Reissue. It was bought from Wildwood and sent to Kim Lafleur at Historic Makeovers for a Deluxe Package transformation. Was also sent to Kim for a second time to change the color.
Deluxe Package consists of a nice vintage-looking medium chocolate Brazilian Board, 6/6 nylon nut, rolled Royalite binding , thin nitrocellulose paint and lots of natural weather checking, dish and neck carved to real vintage specs, all aged to a very tasteful broken in feel.Finish is Transparent Red, in the style of Eric Clapton and George Harrison's Lucy. Its a custom finish and really nice subtle flame top as you can see. Guitar has a changed serial number and the second HM COA shows it with old and new serial number.
Fretwork has been done by Kim with rolled binding and vintage spec nickel silver frets. The guitar plays itself. Seriously, this guitar truly plays easy and the neck is the perfect "59" feel.
Wiring Harness has upgraded Switchcraft toggle switch and jack, CTS custom Area 59 TVT audio taper and Russian / Vitamin PIOS. Hardware and parts fully upgraded. Retrospect Amber Bonnets and Truss Rod Cover, Catalina switch tip, Poker Chip. True Historic ABR-1, tailpiece, pickup rings and MojoAxe pickguard. Pickups are Custom Buckers low wind with True Historic Covers. The guitar has a lot of great and vintage-accurate parts. A lot of money has been invested in this project.
