1938 Gibson L-10 Vintage Archtop Acoustic Guitar w Original Hard Case Sunburst CLEAN!
Here is a really nice and exceptionally tidy 1938 Gibson L-10 in a beautiful, vibrant sunburst finish, just in from its long-time owner of the last few decades.
This is a pre-war Gibson archtop in outstanding condition for its age, featuring factory chrome hardware, a fancy original tailpiece, checkerboard top binding, and Grover tuners. It has all the elegant pre-war appointments you want to see on a higher-end L-series Gibson.
This guitar is 100% original, with the only exception being the tortoise celluloid pickguard, which was recently restored using the original binding by Mirabella.
Condition-wise, this one is exceptionally clean for nearly 90 years old. There is not much wear to speak of, just a small area of light finish loss near the first fret on the bass side, likely from a player’s thumb over the years. There is also a fair amount of finish checking throughout, including a couple of deeper checks on the side, though these do not appear to be cracks. Importantly, there are no wood cracks anywhere on the instrument.
Neck feel is excellent with a nice full profile, as you would expect from this era. It projects very well, is very responsive, and has no dead spots anywhere on the fingerboard — it plays cleanly all the way up the neck.
It comes complete with its original Geib tweed case with racing stripes, which is also in very nice vintage condition.
