1957 Fender Duo Sonic Desert Sand Tan Wide Nut Maple Neck Anodized Guard w Original Case Pre-CBS!
Here is a really nice and great-playing 1957 Fender Duo-Sonic in the classic Desert Sand finish with the anodized gold pickguard.
This one features a wide nut maple neck, which is a very desirable early spec only found on the earliest examples. It’s a great-feeling vintage Fender with a lot of character.
This guitar certainly shows its age, but it’s still very usable and a lot of fun to play. It has been refretted, and the fingerboard received a light overspray at that time. The only other change is a set of correct-style Kluson tuners (drop-in replacements).
Otherwise, the guitar is completely original, including untouched electronics. The Desert Sand finish is 100% original with no touch-ups, showing plenty of checking throughout. The bridge is original, currently fitted with newer saddles, and the original saddles are included. It even still has the original bridge cover, which is a great bonus.
Condition is good plus, with honest vintage wear throughout — including light dings, scratches, and finish checking — exactly what you’d expect from a well-played ’50s Fender.
It comes with the original hardshell case, which is in very good condition.
