1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard Burst Jam City 1957 Conversion!

Here is a really unique 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard conversion, built from an original 1957 Gibson Les Paul Junior by JamCity Guitars / Jim Weyandt, who is well known for doing these types of vintage Gibson conversions.

The great thing about a guitar like this is that you get genuine 1950s Gibson wood and construction in a Les Paul Standard flametop format. The top has a really cool look to it, with a color with a very faded looking Burst to it. It's a beautifully executed guitar and definitely something different from your typical Les Paul.

The guitar plays exceptionally well with medium-jumbo frets and Seymour Duncan Slash humbuckers. It has a nice chunky neck, resonates very well, and has the original Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with very convincing-looking inlays.

The conversion was completed in July 2012, and it comes with the Jam City Guitars certificate confirming the work. It also includes the original Manlius humbuckers that were installed by Jam City when the conversion was done.

For someone looking for the feel and old wood of a real 1950s Les Paul without getting into the prices of an original Burst or some of the more expensive vintage conversions, this is a very good way to go.

It comes with a 1970s Gibson hardshell case, as shown.

Playability & Sound

This is an exceptional-playing Les Paul with a nice chunky neck, medium-jumbo frets, and excellent resonance. The neck measures 0.91" at the first fret and 1.01" at the 12th fret, with a 1.64" nut width.

The Seymour Duncan Slash pickups give it plenty of power, sustain, and clarity, and this guitar has the kind of lively response you'd hope for from an instrument built around genuine 1950s Gibson wood.

At 9.0 lbs., it is also a very comfortable weight for a Les Paul Standard-style guitar.
