1960 Fender Stratocaster Ash Body Slab Board Vintage Strat With Original Hard Case!

Here is a really special Stratocaster. This one is a 1960 Fender Stratocaster with a slab Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard and an Ash body, weighing in at an incredible 7.0 lbs. These early slab board Strats from this period are some of Fender's most desirable guitars, and the combination of the lightweight Ash body makes this one especially cool.

Originally finished in Blonde, the finish is still present throughout the cavities along with all the important date codes. The neck and body clearly came together from the factory, which is a big deal with vintage Strats that have been refinished or modified over the years. Many refin guitars are pieced together from different eras, but this one remains a very honest example.

The guitar plays exceptionally well and is truly a joy to play. The lightweight Ash body gives it a wonderful resonance, and it has that special feel that only a great early Fender can have. It's the type of Strat you can play all day without even noticing the weight.

The guitar is 100% original except for the finish having been stripped, the volume pot, and the neck pickup having been rewound. Everything else remains original and in very good shape. The neck is untouched and completely original, including the original frets, which still have plenty of life left. There are some light divots in the cowboy chord area, but nothing that affects playability.

The original three-way switch is still present, and the mint green pickguard has no cracks. The Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard is exceptionally clean with almost no divots, especially for a guitar that is over 60 years old.

The neck date is 12-60, the body date is 12-60, and the pots date to the 34th week of 1960. This is simply a great honest Ash-body slab board Strat from one of Fender's best periods.

It comes complete with the original Brown Tolex hardshell case, which is also in very good condition.
