1960s Airline Res-o-Glass JB Hutto Red Guitar Valco Supro Jack White Stripes!

Here is a really cool classic 1960s Airline Res-O-Glass JB Hutto model, one of the most iconic guitars to come out of the Valco era. These have developed a huge following over the years thanks to their unmistakable looks, unique tone, and association with Jack White of The White Stripes, who helped introduce an entirely new generation of players to these fantastic old Airline guitars.

This is a nice honest vintage example that remains in very good condition overall. It shows normal cosmetic wear from decades of use but has clearly been well cared for.

Cosmetically, the pickguard has lost some of its original black finish, and there is light corrosion on the neck pickup cover. Otherwise you'll find the expected light dings, scratches, and signs of honest vintage use throughout.

One thing worth mentioning is the neck. As many collectors know, these vintage Res-O-Glass Airlines often develop significant neck relief over the years. Fortunately, this one is better than most, with a fairly straight neck and only a modest amount of relief, making it a very enjoyable player.

The original Kluson Deluxe double-line tuners suggest this is a mid-to-late 1960s example, and everything has that unmistakable vintage Airline vibe.

It comes with a hardshell case.

The Details

  • Condition: Very Good

  • Originality: Appears Original

  • Finish: Redburst Res-O-Glass

  • Notes: Classic JB Hutto model; Jack White / White Stripes style; desirable mid-to-late '60s Kluson Deluxe double-line tuners

Playability & Sound

This one plays really well with a neck that is noticeably straighter than many examples from this era. The frets have plenty of life remaining, and it delivers the unmistakable raw, punchy Valco tone these guitars are famous for. It has that wonderfully gritty, garage-rock character while still cleaning up nicely for blues and roots music.
