1963 Gibson J-50 ADJ Natural Vintage Acoustic Dreadnought Guitar SOUNDS GREAT!

Here is a GREAT sounding 1963 Gibson J-50 in natural — a well-played, honest example that really delivers where it counts. Wide 1-11/16" nut width.

This one has clearly been played quite a bit over the years, and it’s easy to see why. Even with the original plastic bridge, this guitar has a strong, lively tone and responds really well.

Structurally, the guitar is very solid and does not appear to need anything major besides the usual pickguard crack near the fingerboard extension. The action is very good with no neck reset needed, which is always a big plus on these. That said, the plastic bridge is cracked — it’s still intact and functional, but should eventually be replaced down the line.

The finish is original and shows plenty of honest wear including checking, scratches, dings, and scrapes throughout. A true player-grade vintage Gibson with great tone.

The Details

  • Condition: Good / Player-Grade
  • Originality: Appears original including plastic bridge
  • Finish: Original with heavy play wear throughout
  • Notes: Cracked plastic bridge (intact); one pickguard crack on the side of the fretboard extension, no neck reset needed

Playability & Sound

This one plays easy and sounds excellent. Strong, open tone with great response — exactly what you’d want from a good early-’60s J-50.
