1963 Gibson Les Paul Standard SG Body w FULL 1959 Profile Neck 100% Original Vintage Guitar!
Here is a killer 1963 Gibson Les Paul Standard SG body, a highly desirable example from the golden era of vintage Gibson SG production.
This is a 100% original Gibson SG Standard equipped with a very unusual and extremely appealing feature set — most notably its super chunky ’59-style neck profile, measuring approximately 0.85" / 1.02", making it one of the fuller-feeling SG necks you’re likely to ever encounter from this period.
It retains all the key original specs collectors look for, including untouched PAT # humbuckers, single-line Kluson tuners, no-wire ABR-1 bridge, sideways tremolo, reflector knobs, small pickguard, and a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays, all wrapped in a classic Cherry Red finish with nickel hardware throughout.
This guitar is very clean overall, especially structurally, with no cracks, no repairs, and no refinishing whatsoever. It does show some honest cosmetic wear, including notable “curly cord” rash on the back and a bit on the back of the neck, along with a few dings and light surface scratches, but nothing that takes away from its originality or appeal.
Neck feel is a major highlight here — this is a rare chunky-neck SG, offering a far more substantial feel than the thinner profiles typically seen in this era.
It comes to us in its original chipboard case.
At 7.3 lbs, it’s a comfortable and well-balanced vintage SG.
