1965 Fender Jaguar Sunburst w Original Case L-Series Vintage Guitar!

Here is a really nice and reasonably clean 1965 Fender Jaguar in Sunburst with a ton of personality. This one has affectionately earned the name “DEE” and is a fantastic example from the early CBS transition period when Fender guitars were still very much built with the same philosophy and feel as the late Leo Fender era.

This is the desirable pre-neck binding and block inlay era, featuring the classic appointments collectors love: L-series serial number, clay-style dots, and the clean early Jaguar aesthetic. The neck dates to March 1965, the pots date to the 8th week of 1965, and everything lines up perfectly with this being an authentic 1965 example.

The guitar is 100% original and comes complete with the original no-logo hardshell case, tremolo arm, bridge cover, and even a very cool vintage AMBI-GLO strap from the era.

This Jaguar was clearly played and enjoyed for just a few years before being carefully put away (either that or babied it's entire life). It is in very good condition overall with a beautiful original Sunburst finish showing honest signs of use. There are some light scratches and dings, mostly around the edges, but the finish remains very clean. Interestingly, it has almost no finish checking except for some minimal checking on the back of the headstock. It must have been always stored properly and not exposed to the elements.

The finish has naturally worn in just the right places, giving it a smooth, broken-in feel that players love. The frets show some light wear in the common first-position areas but still have plenty of life remaining.

The fingerboard also appears to be Brazilian Rosewood, adding another desirable feature to this already great example.
