1975 Guild USA G-41 JUMBO Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar w Original Case HUGE SOUND!
Here is a really unique and hard-to-find 1975 Guild G-41 in Natural finish, built at the fabled Westerly, Rhode Island factory during one of Guild's most respected eras.
The G-41 is a somewhat overlooked model today, but those who have spent time with them know just how impressive they can be. Think of it as a jumbo dreadnought, with a larger-than-standard body and a longer scale length that combine to produce a big, powerful sound with excellent clarity and focus. It has the volume and projection you'd expect from a large-bodied acoustic, but with a tighter and more controlled response than many jumbo designs.
This particular example is in very good vintage condition and has clearly been well cared for over the years. Importantly, there are no cracks or repairs to note, which is always a welcome finding on a 50-year-old acoustic guitar.
Cosmetically, there is some honest vintage wear throughout. The top shows a light amount of finish checking, along with some surface marks and scratches from normal playing, particularly around the soundhole from years of strumming. There are also some light rivet marks on the back, though these remain in the finish and have not worn through.
From a playability standpoint, this one is in a very good place. The action currently measures approximately 6/64" on the low E and 4/64" on the high E at the 12th fret, making it comfortable and easy to play. The guitar does not currently need a neck reset, though the saddle is on the lower side, so like many vintage acoustics, that may eventually be part of its future. For now, it is playing very well and should provide years of enjoyment before any major work becomes necessary.
An added bonus is the installed pickup with endpin jack, making this a great option for players who want a vintage Guild that performs equally well on stage and in the studio.
It comes complete with the original hardshell case.
Overall, this is a really cool Guild model that doesn't come around often, and this particular example delivers exactly what you'd want from a vintage Westerly-built acoustic: big sound, easy playability, and plenty of character.

- Finish: Natural
- Notes: Westerly-built Guild; jumbo dreadnought design; no cracks or repairs
Playability & Sound
This one plays easy and comfortably with a nice low action, and it has the kind of big, powerful voice that makes these larger Guild acoustics so appealing. There's plenty of volume on tap, but the sound remains focused and balanced with excellent projection. Plugged in, it performs equally well thanks to the installed pickup system.
