1993 Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt Fred Stuart Electric Xii Candy Apple Red Matching Headstock Early Cs!
Here is a really unique and possibly one-of-a-kind Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt Electric XII from 1993 by Fred Stuart. This is essentially a very vintage-correct Electric XII, but with three Strat-style single-coil pickups, making it a particularly unusual instrument from the early days of the Fender Custom Shop.
The classic Candy Apple Red finish with matching headstock has aged beautifully. While the guitar is pretty much Near Mint, the finish has taken on an old-guitar look that is really cool from a vintage dealer perspective. Other than a couple of very small dings, it's exceptionally clean.
The guitar plays really well and sounds great, with plenty of that classic chimey 12-string sound you'd hope for. It's a really fun and unique Fender that certainly stands out from the usual Electric XII.
This is serial number 0445 and features the custom-built Fred Stuart Fender USA logo decal on the back of the headstock, along with an old Matt Umanov Guitars New York decal on the back.
It comes complete with the original hardshell case, COA, and other original paperwork, as shown.

Playability & Sound
This is a really great-playing and great-sounding Electric XII. The neck has a comfortable feel, measuring 0.87" at the first fret and 0.97" at the 12th fret, with a 1.65" nut width.
The three single-coil pickup setup gives this one plenty of the bright, chiming 12-string character you'd expect, while making it quite different from a typical Electric XII.
At 8.3 lbs., it has a solid feel without being overly heavy.
