Here is an incredibly rare and highly desirable 1997 Fender Custom Shop Jimi Hendrix Monterey Pop Festival Stratocaster Diamond Dealer Edition, presented in mint, unplayed condition. This is truly a holy grail for Fender Custom Shop collectors and one of the most iconic artist signature models ever produced.

This is the highly coveted Diamond Dealer Edition, distinguished by its raised gold chevron headstock logo with a genuine inset diamond. Limited to only 210 guitars worldwide, this example is serial number 115, and remains exactly as it left the Fender Custom Shop nearly three decades ago. Only 163 were the higher-grade Diamond Dealer Edition like this one.

Condition simply could not be better. This guitar has been meticulously stored and preserved since new and remains genuinely unplayed. There is no finish checking, no scratches, no dings, and not even a single pick mark. Finding one in this level of preservation today is extraordinarily difficult.

Each of these guitars was hand-painted by renowned Fender Custom Shop artist Pamelina H., faithfully recreating the legendary artwork Jimi Hendrix created on his Stratocaster before sacrificing it during his unforgettable performance at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival. Few guitars have become as visually iconic in rock history.

The Monterey Strat earned a second legendary chapter decades later when John Mayer adopted a prototype version as one of the centerpiece guitars in his touring collection, most famously during his acclaimed 2007 Where the Light Is performance.
