Here is a very special Collings D3H BaaA acoustic guitar previously owned by Zac Brown of the Zac Brown Band. This is a spectacular custom example with some of the finest appointments Collings has ever offered, combining exceptional tonewoods, traditional pre-war styling, and outstanding craftsmanship.

The D3H is already one of Collings’ most respected dreadnought models, but this particular guitar takes it to another level. The standout feature is the Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, along with a matching Brazilian Rosewood headplate. Combined with an Adirondack Spruce top, this guitar delivers the power, clarity, and complexity that serious acoustic players search for.

The appointments are exceptional throughout, including herringbone trim, grained ivoroid binding, ornate gold engraved Waverly tuners, and an ebony fingerboard and bridge with no markers for a clean, traditional look. The label is also hand signed by Bill Collings himself, adding another special layer of collectibility.

This guitar was used by Zac Brown, and one unique feature is the clear pickguard currently installed in place of the original tortoise guard. While it would be easy to change back if desired, we have chosen to leave it as-is because this is how Zac Brown used the instrument.

Condition is very good overall. It has been played and enjoyed but remains a beautiful example. There are a few light pock marks on the top and some light fret wear, though there is still plenty of fret life remaining. Nothing affects playability, and this guitar sounds exactly like a great Collings dreadnought should.

The tone is outstanding—powerful, balanced, and extremely responsive. The combination of Brazilian Rosewood and Adirondack Spruce gives it incredible depth, projection, and harmonic complexity.

It comes complete with the Collings hardshell case and a hand-signed COA from Zac Brown and CME, the retailer that assisted with the sale of his collection.
