2002 ALEMBIC Custom Short-Scale Electric Bass Guitar Stanley CLARKE Vermilion 4-String

2002 ALEMBIC Custom Short-Scale Stanley Clarke Vermilion 4-string Bass Exceptional Quality with Original Case!

Here is a really special custom-ordered 2002 Alembic CSB4 built in Santa Rosa, California. This bass combines the iconic Stanley Clarke Small Standard body shape with a 30.75" short scale and some very unusual wood appointments. It's a high-end, custom-built Alembic with exceptional craftsmanship throughout.

The body features a solid Vermilion core with a matching Vermilion top laminate, accented by a contrasting Maple pinstripe. The five-piece Maple and Walnut neck runs through the body and is topped with an unmarked Ebony fingerboard. The rear headstock also features matching Vermilion veneer, while a solid brass Alembic logo medallion adds another nice custom detail.

This one is equipped with dual Alembic AXY hum-canceling pickups and Alembic's versatile active electronics, including the low-pass filter with Q-switch and stacked bass/treble controls. It has a wonderful combination of clarity, punch, and tonal flexibility.

The bass is in excellent condition and looks fantastic overall. Just a small finish mark on the tip of the headstock. It weighs 10 lbs. and has a comfortable short-scale feel. The neck measures 0.81" at the first fret and 0.93" at the 12th fret, with a nut width just under 1-11/16".

Completed on September 17, 2002, this is a particularly interesting custom-order Alembic with its original serial number 02C12856. It comes with the original Alembic hardshell case and factory Instrument Wood Card, as shown.
