2006 Martin 000-40S Mark Knopfler Ragpicker's Dream Signature Edition - 000-45S, Signed Label

2006 Martin 000-40S Mark Knopfler Ragpicker's Dream Signature Edition - 000-45S, Signed Label!

Here is a really special Martin 000-40S Mark Knopfler Signature Edition, made in a limited run of just 155 instruments. These are highly desirable guitars, and they rarely come up for sale. The interior label is hand-signed by C.F. Martin IV and Mark Knopfler, making this a particularly collectible Martin.

You'll often see these referred to as the 000-45S Mark Knopfler Signature Edition. The naming can be confusing, but these references are used for the same special signature model.

This is a beautiful 12-fret 000 with solid Italian Alpine spruce and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, along with a slotted headstock, pyramid bridge, and Style 42 snowflake fingerboard inlays in abalone. The combination of the Italian spruce top, rosewood body, and vintage-inspired appointments makes for a really elegant guitar.

The guitar is in beautiful condition and has clearly seen very little playing time over the years. It plays easily and sounds glorious, with the warmth, resonance, and rich tonal character you'd hope for from a high-end Martin of this caliber.

The neck has a comfortable Modified V profile, measuring 0.87" at the first fret and 1.00" at the 9th fret, with a generous 1-13/16" nut width.

It comes complete with the original Martin Geib-style hardshell case, as shown.
