Here is a super collectible and highly desirable 2018 Martin Custom Shop John Mayer D-45 Signature Model, one of only 45 guitars ever produced. Even more special, each guitar features a label hand signed by John Mayer himself, making this one of the rarest and most sought-after modern Martin signature models.
This is an extraordinary Custom Shop build featuring beautiful Guatemalan Rosewood back and sides paired with an Engelmann Spruce top. The combination produces an incredibly rich, responsive voice with tremendous projection yet still sweet enough for any style.
The craftsmanship is exactly what you would expect from Martin's Custom Shop. It features all of the classic Style 45 abalone appointments, along with a unique custom fingerboard inlay that elegantly extends the soundhole rosette onto the fretboard—a tasteful detail exclusive to this signature model. Additional premium appointments include grained ivoroid binding throughout, creating a truly elegant and distinctive instrument.
Despite all of its ornate appointments, this guitar is remarkably lightweight. It is truly featherweight, making it exceptionally responsive and incredibly lively in your hands. The neck has a substantial chunky rounded profile that feels very comfortable and contributes to the guitar's powerful, vintage-inspired character.
The sound is nothing short of spectacular. It has huge volume and projection, yet retains a wonderfully sweet, balanced tone with outstanding clarity and sustain. Martin truly knocked it out of the park with this limited-edition model, and it's easy to understand why these rarely become available.
Condition is mint. We cannot find any notable scratches, dings, or signs of use—even the pickguard remains free of the typical light pick marks. It has clearly been meticulously cared for since new.
It comes complete with the original Martin hardshell case, original paperwork, and even the original factory shipping box that has been carefully saved since 2018.
