2017 Collings D2H MRA Madagascar Rosewood Adirondack Top Owned by ZAC BROWN!

Here is a fine Collings custom guitar built for Zac Brown of the Zac Brown Band. This is a special Collings D2H MRA dreadnought that combines some of the most desirable traditional acoustic guitar appointments with the exceptional craftsmanship Collings is known for.

The D2H platform is already legendary among serious acoustic players, and this custom example takes things a step further with Madagascar Rosewood back and sides, Adirondack Spruce top, herringbone binding, and beautiful diamond and snowflake fingerboard inlays. It is a fantastic combination of classic pre-war inspiration and modern boutique construction.

This guitar has an enormous voice. It is a powerful, resonant dreadnought with the kind of projection and headroom that bluegrass players look for. It remains balanced and musical, but when you dig in, this guitar really opens up. There are no dead notes anywhere on the neck, even when played aggressively.

The setup is very much geared toward bluegrass playing, with excellent playability and a strong, comfortable feel. It plays effortlessly and responds beautifully.

This example was previously owned by Zac Brown of the Zac Brown Band and comes with excellent provenance, including a hand-signed COA from Zac Brown and CME, the retailer that assisted with the sale of his collection.

Condition is very good plus overall. It has been played and enjoyed, but it remains a beautiful example. The only things to note are a small ding on the corner of the headstock, a few light surface scratches on the back of the body, and a small finish mark near the bottom of the bridge that appears likely related to a previous bridge reglue. Nothing affects playability or performance.

It comes complete with the original hardshell case, paperwork, and Collings leather strap.

A fantastic opportunity to own a custom Collings dreadnought with celebrity provenance, premium woods, and incredible tone.

Playability & Sound

This D2H MRA is a powerful and inspiring player. It has the big, commanding voice expected from a great dreadnought while remaining extremely responsive and easy to play.
