2019 Gibson 60th Anniversary 1959 AFD Les Paul Heavy Aged Slash Appetite For Destruction R9 59 Custom Shop!
Here is one you don’t see every day — a Gibson Custom Shop 60th Anniversary 1959 Les Paul Reissue, Made to Measure (M2M) and custom ordered to replicate Slash’s “Appetite for Destruction” Les Paul.
There was only a short window where Gibson allowed these AFD-style M2M builds, and this is one of the few. It’s a very faithful recreation of the Derrig-built AFD Les Paul, finished in a hand-selected Mojave Fade with heavy aging. It's actually higher spec than the 2010 models that are like $40k!
This guitar was originally ordered through Junsei Guitars in Japan as a pre-sold limited PSL, featuring a hand-selected top and full Custom Shop aging work. The level of detail and aging is excellent — Gibson really put a lot into this one.
It appears to be all original, with the exception of the Seymour Duncan Slash humbuckers and reflector knobs. It’s possible these were part of the original order, but we are conservatively calling them replaced.
Condition is excellent, with little to no wear beyond the factory aging.
