2019 Gibson Custom Shop '58 Les Paul Standard KILLER QUILT Historic Reissue 1958 R8 Zebras!
Here is an absolutely gorgeous and relatively rare 2019 Gibson Custom Shop 1958 Les Paul Reissue (R8) in a beautiful Lemon Burst VOS finish.
This is a standout example thanks to its highly figured quilt-style maple top, which is something you don’t typically see on an R8. In today’s market, finding a heavily figured ’58 reissue like this has become increasingly difficult, making this a very appealing piece for discerning Burst-style collectors.
This one has a clean, unfaded presentation and retains a very authentic vintage-inspired look. It is fitted with factory zebra Custombucker pickups, and notably, the pickguard was never installed, though it is included with the guitar as part of the complete package.
During this period, the R8 models were also spec’d with smaller vintage-style frets, closer to original late-’50s specifications, which adds to the overall vintage feel and playing experience.
Condition is very clean and minty overall, showing only minimal signs of careful handling. It presents extremely well and sits comfortably in the upper end of collector-grade modern Historics.
The neck has a fairly chunky late-’50s profile, and the guitar feels solid and balanced in hand. At 8 lbs. 2 oz., it’s a comfortable weight with excellent resonance.
It comes complete with all original accessories, including the Lifton-style brown hardshell case, COA, and full case candy and paperwork as shown.
