2024 Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Lab 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue R9 59 Ultra Light Aged

Here is a really killer recent Gibson Murphy Lab 1959 Les Paul Reissue, and an especially strong example thanks to its featherweight build, balanced feel, and very musical top.

This one features a beautiful vintage-correct burst finish with an excellent color profile and a top that has just the right amount of figure and movement without being overdone. It has that understated, authentic late-’50s aesthetic that really works well on a Murphy Lab instrument.

It is finished in Ultra Light Aged treatment, giving it a very natural, broken-in look and feel without heavy relic work. The aging is subtle and tasteful, allowing the guitar’s materials and construction to take center stage.

Tonally and physically, this one really stands out — it is lightweight, resonant, and very well balanced, with a lively acoustic response that translates into a big, open amplified sound. It delivers that classic Les Paul character with huge sustain, strong midrange presence, and excellent clarity under both clean and driven tones.

Playability is excellent, with a comfortable late-’50s neck profile measuring approximately 0.88” at the 1st fret and 0.98” at the 12th fret, and a 1-11/16” nut width, giving it a familiar and very playable feel.

Condition is excellent overall, showing only minor signs of careful playwear, consistent with light use and handling.

At just 7.6 lbs, it’s a standout for comfort and resonance in this category.

It comes complete with the original hardshell case, COA, and all original paperwork and case candy as shown.
