Here is a killer older USA Breedlove CM/W, hand-signed on the label by Steve Henderson, built in 1998 at the Tumalo, Oregon shop during a strong early period for Breedlove’s boutique-era acoustics.

This is a striking and highly individual instrument, showcasing Breedlove’s distinctive design language — from the sculpted bridge design to the elegant body contours and carefully selected tonewoods. The standout feature here is the heavily flamed walnut back and sides, which are absolutely exceptional and give the guitar a deep, three-dimensional visual character.

It’s also a very refined player. The guitar is set up with super low action, and still retains plenty of saddle height, indicating excellent structural health and long-term setup stability. It feels effortless in hand and very responsive across the entire range.

Neck dimensions are very comfortable, measuring approximately 0.79” at the 1st fret and 0.88” at the 12th fret, with a 1.75” nut width and a 2.30” string spacing at the bridge, making it a very capable instrument for fingerstyle work and nuanced acoustic playing.

Tonally, this CM/W delivers a clear, balanced, and articulate voice, with excellent separation and a strong fundamental, while still retaining warmth and complexity from the walnut construction. It responds well to both light touch and more aggressive strumming.

Condition is exceptionally clean — easily near mint, with only the faintest evidence of handling, such as very light pick marks. It presents as a remarkably well-preserved example of an early boutique-era Breedlove.

It comes complete with the original hardshell case, along with additional extras as shown. The guitar also originates from a notable collection of boutique acoustics spanning the 1970s through modern builds, placing it among some very high-caliber instruments.
