1984 Gibson ES-175D with Very Unique Specs!!
Look at that top! This one is a bit of a mystery as it has some very unique specs. It has bound F-holes, ES-175 engraved on the truss rod cover, lightly figured maple top, beautiful iced tea sunburst reminiscent of Viceroy Brown. I'm not aware of another ES-175 with bound F-holes or that truss rod cover so this was either a custom order or were added at a later date possibly by Gibson as it does appear to be factory work. We are leaning toward the latter. The guitar is very attractive and plays great. The guitar also sounds excellent.
The guitar is in very good plus condition overall. There is some light finish checking on the top, some light surface scratches, and a few very light dings as shown in the detailed website photos. The pickups appear to be '57 Classics and knobs that are not normally what you see in this era so potentially added later on but this was a very interesting era for Gibson. This is an early Gibson Nashville guitar. Comes with a slightly later Gibson hardshell case and case instructions.
