Gibson Custom Shop ERIC CLAPTON BEANO #001 1960 Les Paul Reissue Signature Model 60 VOS R0!
Here is a really cool Gibson Custom Shop Eric Clapton “Beano” 1960 Les Paul VOS, and an especially desirable example as this is serial number EC001 — the very first guitar from the entire run.
This model pays tribute to Clapton’s legendary original 1960 Les Paul Standard from the John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers “Beano” era, one of the most iconic tones in electric guitar history. As such, it remains one of the most collectible modern Custom Shop signature reissues Gibson has produced.
This example is in very clean, near-mint condition overall, showing only a few light surface scratches near the pickguard area. Otherwise it presents beautifully with no fret wear to speak of, and has clearly been well preserved.
Being EC001 makes this a standout collector piece, and it retains all the original case candy and documentation.
The guitar comes complete with the original matching hardshell case featuring Eric Clapton’s signature, along with the COA and all original paperwork and extras as shown.
Playability is excellent, with a comfortable early-’60s neck profile that feels fast and familiar. The neck measures approximately 1-11/16" at the nut, 0.82" at the 1st fret, and 0.89" at the 12th fret, giving it a slightly slimmer, more agile feel compared to a ’59 profile.
At 8.5 lbs, it has a very balanced, resonant feel and delivers exactly what you’d expect from a high-end Beano reissue—smooth sustain, articulate midrange, and that classic early Clapton-era Les Paul voice when pushed through an amp.
