2018 Wide Sky PL1 Acoustic & Electric Guitar

Here is a really unique model from Wide Sky Guitars, handmade in Taos, New Mexico. This is the PL1, serial number 44, completed in March of 2018.

What a great model this is. It clearly draws inspiration from the early Gibson L-1 guitars while incorporating Wide Sky's own distinctive approach and craftsmanship. The result is a guitar that feels vintage-inspired yet completely original.

This example features a beautiful hand-rubbed oil finish in red, along with an Ebony fingerboard, Ebony bridge, and Ebony pickguard. The aesthetics are understated but elegant, and the hand-built nature of the instrument is evident throughout.

One particularly interesting feature is the factory-installed acoustic pickup/microphone system mounted at the bridge. It captures the guitar's natural acoustic voice very well and adds another layer of versatility to an already unique instrument.

We currently have the guitar set up with phosphor bronze strings, which really bring out its acoustic qualities. There are specialty strings available for players who wish to lean more heavily into the electric side of the instrument, making this a flexible platform depending on your playing style.

Condition is very good overall. There was a crack in the top near the armrest area that has been professionally repaired and is stable. There is also a light scratch on the opposite side of the top. Aside from those items, the guitar presents very nicely and remains a wonderful player.

These guitars are now out of production, making them increasingly difficult to find. If you've been curious about Wide Sky instruments or are looking for something truly different from the mainstream offerings, this is a great opportunity.

It comes complete with the original faux crocodile hardshell case.
